TIDBITS ~ INTO THE FUTURE {con't}

I have laid low for a while since all of this transpired. I have been gathering information to finish this short and watching their actions {of course}. Most of everything that was online is removed or deleted. The next to last quip was written in 2008. I have waited to finish this to see if I could end it. Thankfully, the outrageous behaviour of these girls ceased allowing me to finish the short. This took 4 ½ years to finish. This was a means to an end, a form of therapy; but it has become a self help to anyone who has experienced any kind of betrayal in professional dealings.

Tidbits ~ INTO THE FUTURE {pg 3}

In going onward, Cassandra made another quip; which really shows complete immaturity. The below really shows how hateful of a person she is - to actually write that and post online.

*Wendalkoon.com is a 30-something fat basement dweller who trolls myspace under various other handles such as Dancer Enterprise, JAZZARINA, and Resurrection Dance Company, and operates a fake myspace posing as her mom. She professes to be a “choreographer, teacher, dancer”, but videos and pictures on her page show to be fat and talent less. She has also been reported to be smelly.

This article {and I use that loosely} is only a segment as it is too long to type in one day. I have other important tasks to tend to…but this is a part of my series. So, I shall recant.
In regards to the various online accounts, I have numerous businesses. Anyone with any business sense will know that you need different websites, myspace’s {if you promote in that fashion}, or other online tools. The person in question is clearly blue collar white trash. And I am sorry for saying that--but I call it as I see it. Never in my life have I ever called someone out and told what I really thought, but this individual deserves to hear the truth. You never know who is reading online and when you put articles, blogs, statements out there you are inviting a bad destiny for yourself. Your employers can be reading these items, and while at first they might not know who you are talking about--they are not stupid and will put two and two together {especially if you include links}.

I am not going to address the immaturity of the person who wrote the segment above…as it is a waste of my time. But I will compare as she has done several times to me how unprofessional I am. Or should I say she is. We all know the first rule of thumb. Don’t trash others. That was the first mistake that she did.

If you take the time to visit the blog address-- www.notesfromupstageleft.com you will see what I mean.
NOTE: this particular blog was changed to the exact layout as mine; when I changed my layout, presto, she changed hers…..especially the title heading {the photos and caption over the photo}. My infamous line-----LOSER! But, I won’t chatter away with derogatory quips.
- it is linked to her now company website {doesn’t showcase herself as a professional director with her writing’s}
- has photos along the side {but no description, year, names}
- has a lot of useless info along the side
- no business links for herself {to promote…website, myLinkspace, youtube}

These are the only “pro” items that I did see. As I see it, too bad if she gets angry because what I have said about her. I did vent online when the action begun--a dire mistake. In doing so I was defending myself against what was written and doing so meant I was defending lies. I did hold my head up and carried onward; while they continued their accusations. Six months later an idiotic taking of my businesses showed up in a blog, entitled, “How to create a sham dance company is 6 easy steps”. I did read and almost feel off my stool from laughing! And she says she’s a professional. {currently laughing …again} Well, the rest is history as I have never said anything again. Not until I created a series of their quips. Many know all of the drama that I have been subjected to--so no use to recall it. So, if she is mad--get over it. She should not have went online to boast, ridicule me, and other tasteless things, if she could not prove a shred of what was being said. After I ceased on one side, her and another continued their shenigans. People do get fed up with others doing harm {no matter how stupid it may be}. So, this is my way of saying in the beginning, she should have laid all of her cards on the table…and this would have been non-existent. Unfortunately, she chose to go down a difficult path for herself. Again, if she gets angry or others, so be it. If you can’t handle what’s being thrown at you…maybe you should re-evaluate your achievements since moving to Texas. {since I AM responsible for you being here--and this is your gratitude.}

I should also mention that a blog in which she wrote--she was pouting about her mother charging her rent to do administrative work for my company {while still up north}. Your mother was treating you as an adult and you could not see that. Complaining is what children do.

*Wendalkoon.com was the original name of my freelance website

Tidbits ~ INTO THE FUTURE {pg 2}

I am not going to comment on this entry. I feel it is a waste of my time and energy. I know what she is suggesting; and I don’t care to recant her drama. There is one thing that is extremely important that was not mentioned: dancers who smoke and drink. Your body is a temple--don’t abuse it with nicotine and alcohol!

I find she is a person who is “pushing” her beliefs upon others. It is similar to saying you are not a Catholic, hence, you are going to hell. No one likes having their beliefs, lifestyles, and personal appearance pushed into their face.

Golden Rule:
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you

In closing, all of these ladies are miffed when I let the news go public that they falsely resigned. Now, hold in memory that I have poof of a conspiracy from Cassandra and Shanon{ paper documentation and according to law authorities}. All of this could have been avoided by them carrying themselves as confident, mature, and professional women. Instead, they retorted to childish remarks resulting in a glorious battle that they feel they won; because they left my employment and gloated at the unprofessional person I was. I cannot relate to their stories such as not having the type of food they like, awful jobs, and many more. I don’t concur with them, as I am not in that bad of a situation, I guess, since I really don’t understand.

I will say this, as a Christian person you are taught from the bible to not sin {which is a wide area}; but I would never say such things to another as you will or have read prior. Why? Because, I am a Christian and we are taught not to sin. I have to answer for my actions and that man is God.
Now, onward………

Taken from an entry of beginning a dance company…
Still, man…if the fat tuna fish lady can quote/unquote “have [her] own company”, I can as well.
Then she went on to say……
When you are a choreographer, your dancers are a prilvege. These people are taking time out of their schedules and time away from the families to help you fufill your artistic vision. Without them, you have no dance, just a great idea with no concrete product to show for it. Your dancers are just as important as to the execution of your art…..these are people you do not want to burn bridges with.
….Don’t talk to your group of professional dancers like they are children or beginners. They would have not gotten to that stage in their career if they had no known their shit. (Ari, Shanon, and myself had a rather negative experience with this, so I had to mention it).
{this comes from Cassandra’s blog of beginning a dance company}

The line, without them, you have no dance…. I would like to comment on that. As singers and musicians are similar to dancers, I am going to make an analogy. If a solo artist creates work, does that mean he/she is not producing solid material. I was under the impression that a body of work needs to be completed to be considered finished. In going by Cassandra’s quip, I suppose many male or female artists do not have a “product”, because they are not part of a group.

TIDBITS PT II ~ INTO THE FUTURE {pg 1}

Back here in the present, I still write on my blogs, dance articles, and money in this economy. I have noticed very few dancers have actually prepared for a life beyond dance. As this book is being told, I am pleased to know that while these young women were planning to leave my employment, they did not think about securing their financial future. Immediately, they were accepted into various companies and/or side jobs/studios.
SIDENOTE: being a dancer means working more than one job in order to pay the rent, utilities, food, and gas {to get to work}.
So, in retrospect, these young ladies acted in a way unbecoming to them and in the process ruined their future {financially}.
I am not going to go on record, and announce my achievements in order to “look superior”. No one is superior….if you think in that fashion, you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

In the present, two of the young women continue to write things to compete with me; while the third has achieved maturity with a marriage and a child. I suppose one sleeping dog does know how lie still. Having a husband and child is a lot of time. And, men don’t want to hear pettiness.

Shanon wrote a posting in regards to the series of quips {Tidbits} in which she spoke of fat people, dancers who irritate her, and also dancers who aren’t professional. Below is her posting:

Alright...I have to do this post. As a dancer I am(as we ALL are) overly critical, judgmental and full of myself. I want to write about some types of dancers that drive me effing crazy. It's probably offensive but who cares..a lot of people feel this way. They just won't admit it publicly.

Mouth Breathers
There is nothing worse than watching a show and maybe you love the music, maybe you love the choreography, maybe you love the lights, set, costumes, ect. But none of that matters because all you can focus on is the "Huh, huh, huh" coming from somewhere over on stage right. This drives me INSANE. You are a DANCER if you wanted to make noise you should have joined the other pot-heads in theater. I think this is the single most unattractive thing a dancer can do, even above not pointing your toes. This goes for "breath cues" and "vocals" as well. Breathe cues are lazy..learn to count.

Fat Dancers
So, as a dancer this is a touchy subject. I would NEVER advocate or encourage eating disorders, but there is still a way to be healthy and thin. What is up with the 150+ lbs dancers?! Our body is our art, it is our tool. It should be respected and taken care of not stuffed full of carbs and saturated fat. When you are fat it takes a toll on your dancing, there is too much weight to pull off any kind of dance move. Not to mention it just looks bad. Understandably some people have bad genetics or medical problems..but I'm sick of being nice about it. If you look at audition forms for "big name" dance companies there are actually weight requirements, as there should be. Seriously, put down the hamburger and eat a salad.

Overly-Dramatic Dancers
There is a place for drama; at the ballet, in "epic-style" dance shows and on The Hills. Other than that, save it for when you see your duet partner practicing lifts with some other hussie. I have been in my fair-share of pieces that required high drama and I have been in pieces where I was told to look slack-jawed. Learn the difference... you shouldn't be making "faces" when everyone else looks comatose.

Flexed-Foot Dances

POINT YOUR DAMN TOES. That's all that needs to be said.

Tidbits ~ SEVEN, EIGHT, NINE

SEVEN

…the company has been misrepresented as “intertwined with the missions of MPH and ONE,” whereas recent events prove that no affiliation or dedication to either organization’s mission is in RDC or its efforts. The company’s mission also states that RDC’s Repertoire includes modern dance choreography “…while adhering to Graham and Horton methods.’ which have proven to be untrue...
{taken from an email with their resignation’s…I only used what was pertinent. Again placing blame on someone either than themselves}

EIGHT

….and I saw the truck pull up in front of IAH I just thought, “oh, God, here goes.”
{Cassandra’s recollection of arriving in Houston in August of 2006}

NINE

AND: SHANON’S IN FRENTICORE! Yaaaaaay. Now the three of us finally {finally!} get to dance together in a good, legitimate company ran by good, legitimate people and that creates good works and has good classes and good dancers and good performances and that doesn’t suck (recall the last time the three of us danced together). It’s about freaking time!
Frenticore: receive funding from the Houston/Harris County Council on the Arts. In other words: they’re legit. And run by people who know what the f*ck they are doing! In more words: So different from RDC!
{Cassandra’s blog re being in four/five companies, and comparing my company to a new company she just been accepted into.}

Tidbits ~ FOUR, FIVE, SIX

FOUR

I agree! You know what I think is funny? apparently none of had that "special something" I mean shit....I was told I wasn't even good enough to be in that lame excuse of a "company"...but yet here we are dancing in professional companies...and working our asses off to get to actual PERFORM REAL MODERN DANCE.
But other people who have that 'special something" can't even get a company together or get a gig anywhere but a dance class studio....that they don't even to rent on or anything...hmm...if we are so terrible.... then how did this happen??
{Shanon’s reply to Arielle’s blog}

FIVE

Yea gosh why do yu think people aren't nice to you on myspace.....you do all aggresive passive bullsh*it like making fake pages of people you don't like. Your not fooling ANYONE. we dance for Cassandra because she is a REAL director and knows what she's doing. She left you for a good reason and EVERYONE knows that you to Sandra Organ impersonating Cassandra so any credibility you had is GONE. Good luck trying to a dance company now because your only digging yourself deeper and deeper. And by the way if you did your research you would know that Cassandra's fiance is a lawyer. Yea have fun cause all of your internet drama is making their case against so much easier.
{a dancer/friend of Cassandra’s post to me falsely accusing me of impersonating her}

*** A comment posted in reply to the previous comment***
This tidbit sounds like a bunch of children telling their mommy that so and so doesn't like me! They sound like they are in the 3rd grade. These people are supposed to be grown adults; to carry on in a childish way....it must be beyond my comprehension....I just don't get it. This is what 3rd graders do.
In regards to the making a case against you {the author} is a bunch of bull...because, in REAL life you would not be bragging about making a case...they would warn the person in question. Anyone knows that suspects are not supposed to be tipped off!
I was involved in a court case that was a murder case, and this trial would make yours look like a 1st year law student. You don't know what all goes in in a court of law. TIME, ENERGY, and MONEY which this person named Cassandra does not have. In aspects to the impersonation allegation, there's no solidity of proof. My husband was a police officer and what I've learned is you don't talk about being impersonated online....you file a report with the local authorities. From reading the comment, it shows that no impersonation actually happened.

I hope that the person who alleged that Ms. Koon wrote that, doesn't have a suit slapped against her for false allegations.
In closing, be sure to have all of your facts straight before you begin accusing people of impersonating others.
PS. Never tell a person you are gathering info for a court case you will cause them to shut down. Just a piece of advice.

SIX

….then there was the first two weeks, which I spent on the phone or on instant messenger with my friends back home, crying because I hated the company I was in….
{I am not sure what this is re to, but I suppose something along the lines of being in Houston for 3 months and the memories weren’t pleasant ones.}

Tidbits ~ ONE, TWO, THREE

ONE

Bonding with Shanon and Dene over RDC hell. Resigning from RDC and subsequently celebrating. Having something to laugh at/about for the rest of our freaking lives.
{Cassandra’s recap… 2006 was a kickass year, probably one of the best I’ve so far}

TWO

....what is your biggest failure?
Thinking RDC would be worth the time and energy I invested into it (thankfully, I at least got money in exchange for my labour....but not for my headaches)
....whose behavior merited celebration?
Ari's (....taking a leap of faith with me), Shanon's (for being awesome and suffering through RDC hell with me)
NOTE: mentioning the referenced material only
....whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
....................................take a guess?
{a recap of 2006 of Cassandra’s}

***A comment from Blogger in regards to the previous comment***
This is in regards to all of the comments. The person responsible for writing these derogatory remarks should be tarred and feathered; drawn and quartered. These are just a few of the examples that should be done to her. I leave the rest to your imagination.
Come to think of it, these accusations look very familair as I have seen them online previously, and I think they are copied. Yea, looking at them--exact match.

THREE

who has a gig dancing at the hobby center? me and roomie! (of course we are tired from dealing with all the good and difficult choreography that only a good choreographer who knows what they are doing could do, but we are working our devoted asses of and will get there)
but whose been dancing for over 20 years and most likely have never seen the inside of the hobby center? ah, its not nice to be like this sometimes, but it is when you kept yhour mouth shut for too long and the line has been crossed. a little contructive critisim never hurt.
{Arielle’s blog re to my posting about them and their disgusting behaviour}

*** A comment posted in reply to their comment***
Who are these people? Do they serioulsy think the readers/people give a flying flip about what they think? If you can't stand the heat, then get out of the kitchen. From what I read, there is NO child care facilties at the Hobby Center or any other venue. basically, what i'm saying is when you have children it limits your possiblities of performing. your in the same boat as her as you are not performing.

Originally written as the series of quips--tidbits via Blogger; now, I am adding all of them into a book form.

~Taken from my blog post~

I am creating a new series of tidbits---bits of other people's info. This is sure to amuse many people far and wide. It will be called Tidbits--very simple!
This came out of a recollection of paper copies of slander, harassment, derogatory statements, insults, and just pure hatred that were directed at me by former dancers. I knew all of this would be amusing and funny as hell one day. But back in 2006, I felt they all took a piece of me and killed it. Now, in 2009, after re-connecting with old friends/beaus....I find this sh*t funny as hell!
CAN YOU SAY LOSER?
Keep in mind, these are the actual comments, not altered words. Some of the things you will read are plainly funny--if you like idiotic sayings and some are just downright mean complete with cursing to boot!

~~~~~~
Most of the quips will be presented in their original form with its relation to the quip. The writings are taken September 2006 thru June 2007; August and December 2007; and May and June 2008.
I have also recanted a short story - Underpinnings: The Story of RDC; telling the backlash of what I witnessed from disgruntled employees. However, this story is not for public viewing, rather a means of therapy.
~~~~~

HOW TO CREATE A SHAM DANCE COMPANY IN 6 EASY STEPS:

1. Create multiple myspace accounts: 1 for your sham dance company, and at least six for it's fake supporters.
2. Post a mother-lode of photos of yourself and a six-page bio of yourself on the front page of your company's profile. Be sure to list every job you've ever had been fired from had.
3. Use the "Blog" feature to start unfunny drama.
4. Using your other fake accounts, post multiple comments to yourself saying complimentary things like "U r so kewl!!!!11one!" since no one IRL will do this.
5. ???
6. Profit!

Rewind to December of 2007, I was auditioning dancers for my dance company at that time. I suppose this was to a ploy to derive me from focusing on my company and the administrative side of it. This was written by a disgruntled employee that resigned a year prior. In going back further, in September of 2007; my dancers resigned and I published the news via myspace. While in doing so, I made the mistake of venting publicly. My former employees begun posting blogs and comments to each other slandering, harassing, and falsely accusing me of my career/profession. This went on for several months until I stopped commenting on what they had to say {after reading what I was writing about}. I had a long talk with a collegue of mine and she said to me, “when you give into what they are writing about you, you are defending their lies. Don’t write anything related to them and it will cease.” I stopped in July of 2007. Two former employees continued to write things about me to distract me once; in August of 2007 and December of 2007. One even went as far to write a blog and asked “how did you meet me?” The other answered and the reply was something similar to… “at RDC’s audition’s. I just thought does she know how much of a load of crap this is? Oh well, she’ll have to just suffer.”

I also found an article written about me; but it was full of slanderous and distaste; meaning not one word of it was true. This was also written to distract me and make me angry to give into this ex-employees’s tantrum’s. In 2008 {May/June}, an employee left a comment on my professional blog accusing me of impersonating my former employee.

After realizing this person was not going to just let sleeping dogs lay, I released an Artist’s Statement via my website.

I am retiring in relation to pursuing a dance company/ensemble for the remainder of the year {2008}. I do not see myself directing again in the future. If , I am called to fufill my duties as an Artistic Director, it would be outside of Texas. I begun a professional dance company in the Fall of 2002 and begun to feel the fleeting in 2007. While it is hard to keep a company going {business side}, it is much harder to keep it alive with people who will selflessly support you and your values.
In my professional career, I have more than the average number of disappointments. I had to make a name for myself, start afoot with own company; because I was never going to have the opportunity to shine with my directors and/or superiors. I took a huge leap and branched out as a resident choreographer and then as a director.
I know longer feel the joy of working with dancers as I once did. I assume the surmounting perils over the past five {5} years has taken its toll on me, with 2006 being the hardest in 5 years. The abuse I had to endure as an artist with "shots" directed at me regarding my weight, slander, harassment, and general comments {derogatory}, has only made me thick-skinned. As I leave the world of companies, I am not leaving as a teacher, dancer, and choreographer.
I do not know what the next five {5} years hold in store, or the years after that. If I am to comeback and pickup where I ended....it will be by the doings of Jesus Christ.
As I retire, I am pursuing an investigation into the slander and harassment of my abuser (s).
